The Tongass Rainforest Festival is sponsoring a photography competition with an overall theme of celebrating our natural home. The entries must be a minimum size of 5 by 7 inches and “ready to hang”* with a limit of five entries per person. We will be having a separate youth photo share so the artist must be age 16 or older. The five categories are as follows:
“Landscape” includes any photos of Southeast Alaska’s scenery.
“Flora” includes photos of plants, trees, fungi, or lichens.
“Fauna” includes photos of mammals, birds, and fish.
“People in Nature” includes photos of people as they work or play in Southeast’s wild places.
“Altered Images” includes any pieces of art that include photos of our natural home. This might be an altered photo or a collage or a mixed media piece that includes photographic images.
Your work may be available for sale during the show with a 25% commission going to the Clausen Museum.
The entries will be displayed at the Clausen Memorial Museum from September 2nd until September 15th, with an artist’s reception on Sunday, September 11th.

*”Ready to Hang” means that each piece must have a hanger attached (wire or string) so we can display it on a wall. A stand-up frame is not acceptable. If you need some assistance in preparing your piece for display, please contact Annabelle.
